Trauma is an emotional or psychological response to a stressful, frightening, disturbing or distressing experience or event like an accident, bullying abuse, rape, grief, violence, or natural disaster.
Hypnotherapy cannot erase traumatic experiences or events, but it can directly address them and their effects.
The actual traumatic experience or event and a persons response to it with triggers (a psychological stimulus – a reminder that prompts involuntary recalling of it which can include anything such as sights, sounds, smells, or thoughts ) can be examined and emotions surrounding it can be modified and transformed to help cope with, manage, alleviate and release symptoms and help overcome negative feelings associated with recounting the trauma and regain a sense of control and normality in daily life.
