Hypnotherapy can be beneficial for mental health conditions including;
- Stress and Anxiety,
- Depression,
- Phobias,
- Eating Disorders,
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD),
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD),
- Post Traumatic Depression (PTSD),
- Post Natal Depression (PND).
Hypnotherapy can be considered an aid to psychotherapy (counseling or therapy) and is often used in conjunction with talking therapies, and in particular cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) – being a treatment combination which has proven to be particularly effective in achieving improved patient health. Hypnotherapy allows a person to explore painful thoughts feelings, and memories they might have hidden from their conscious minds.
Hypnotherapy can greatly help by interrupting negative psychological functioning and thought patterns and processes that create a distorted, unhealthy view of reality, and redirecting it from conscious thought. When a person becomes depressed, negative thoughts keep going round in a loop in a person’s head, and it becomes harder and harder to break out of that as it makes them feel weak and unworthy of even trying. Through hypnotherapy, a person can be helped to develop coping skills to help them through difficult times, and for a person to move forward in their life, thought processes can be changed so that negative thoughts can be replaced with positive thoughts.
Additionally, hypnotherapy can help with issues related to mental health such as improving sleeping patterns so a person can have a restful night.
